Time Finally Runs Out on 24

24, Kiefer SutherlandKelsey McNeal/FOX

Nice knowing you, Jack Bauer. It was good while it lasted.

After eight days seasons of secret agent, butt-kicking goodness, 24 is officially closing its doors on the Counter Terrorist Unit. "This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible," series star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherlandsaid in statement Friday.

"While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted 24 to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon."

Now about that 24 movie...

"Looking ahead to the future, Howard Gordon and I are excited about the opportunity to create the feature film version of 24," Kiefer explained (yay!). "But when all is said and done, it is the loyal worldwide fan base that made it possible for me to have the experience of playing the role of Jack Bauer, and for that I am eternally grateful."

Still, the potential movie doesn't make a canceled hit show any easier. Fan favorite Mary Lynn Rajskub(Chloe) immediately tweeted the news to fans in two solemn sentences. "Just found out we got the word officially," she wrote. "This is 24's last season."

Don't miss 24's two-hour series finale Monday, May 24 at 8 p.m. on Fox.

Will you miss 24 and the CTU gang? Is 24 past its prime? Say your goodbyes below.

Bollywood film breaks new ground on sex in India

MUMBAI (Reuters Life!) - A new Bollywood film has put the spotlight on changing sexual mores in small-town India, unsettling conservative filmgoers with spy cam footage and pushing the limits of the country's censorship board.

"Love Sex aur Dhokha" (Love Sex and Betrayal) is the latest in a series of avant-garde offerings stripping the film industry of decades of inhibition and dramatically changing the traditional formula of song-and-dance romances and violent revenge sagas.

The film, which opened in cinemas last week with an adults-only rating, has courted controversy with blurred visuals of a naked woman and voyeuristic sequences in its trailers.

Director Dibakar Banerjee says "Love Sex aur Dhokha" is more about a change in attitudes than it is about sex.

He says the film explores the lack of privacy in the modern world -- one where even mobile phones can capture, and broadcast, intimate moments.

"What my camera is doing is that it's recording a story that is changing in front of the camera," says Banerjee. "Earlier, sex used to be behind closed doors but now that is changing."

A decade ago, when a coy couple were about to kiss on screen, the camera would glide to two flowers brushing against each other or birds pecking at each other's beaks. Audiences just assumed the couple had done the deed.

In that sense, Banerjee's film, with a bunch of unknown actors, broke new ground with an extended sex scene which didn't quite escape the censor board's scissors.

But it's the director's use of unconventional cameras -- spy cams, handycams, supermarket security cameras and even underwater ones -- that seems to have won over the critics and drawn comparisons with Hollywood blockbusters "Paranormal Activity" and "The Blair Witch Project".

The story is told from the point of view of the camera, making it almost a character in a plot that interweaves three storylines -- a student who falls in love with his film's lead actress, a shop manager who traps an employee in an infamous MMS scandal and a sting operation on a rock star.

"The film effectively exposes the fat, sexual underbelly that sags out of the middles of this disturbingly prejudiced middle India," critic Mayank Shekhar wrote in the Hindustan Times.

Although critics agree "Love Sex aur Dhokha" marks a big leap for conservative India, it might take more than a few films to change mindsets.

When director Banerjee spoke to his mother about the project, she didn't repeat the name of the film because she didn't want to use the word 'sex'.

Survivor Bully James Tells Disappointed Fans: "Just Be Nice to My Mama"

Robert Voets/CBS

For Survivor's James Clement, Heroes vs. Villains meant no more Mr. Nice Guy.

But the ousted Castaway told us he is just another victim of manipulative editing and unintentional "tone issues" in his speech—which, by the way, oozed with charm during our conversation.

Read on for more on the misunderstood cheerleader (and his mama!)...

Did you know you were going home this week?
Kind of, but not really. When I figured out I really couldn't run and maybe something was really wrong with me, I kinda waived all the alliance stuff and I told 'em straight up: "I really want y'all to win [and] pull it together as a team...Don't feel obligated to vote for me just because I'm in your alliance. I really want the best for y'all."

What if you'd won immunity?
I would've played it. I would've stayed on the shore and sucked it up—I'll hobble, I'll limp. I would've kept myself in the game just to be around these people and learn from them—not [necessarily] to benefit myself and win the money, but just to grow as a person.

Who was next in pecking order?
Candice
was pretty much done. And she knew it. And I love it. Candice [a medical student] constantly kicked that doctor stuff, like it was official [when I was injured]: "I'm a doctor, and you're done"—she was saying that as soon as it happened. She saw her opportunity and she took it. So Candice was gone.

What were your relationships like with your other tribemates?
It's crazy how people use political correctness and social manner to their own benefit. Because for the life of me, I don't see how one person saying "Hey, let's work as a team" [is wrong]. For them to be coming in such an aggressive nature towards me, [I was] like, "Wow. Why you doing that? That's just not acceptable."

You can try to say that I'm being rude—my girlfriend says I have "tone issues" and people have told me the way I come across sometimes might be a little bit rough—but if you listen to what I'm saying, I'm trying to work together. The more you win, the more you have fun, the more stuff you get, the better camp life is gonna be.

My voice might be a little bit deeper, and I'm from Louisiana, I might be a little bit louder. But don't let [the others'] happy sweet voices fool you. They're saying the same things.

Aside from the banana etiquette, I really learned a lot these last couple years. I didn't realize I come across as aggressive. I thought that was just how I sound.

But your voice hasn't changed since previous seasons, when you came off as a nice guy. So what was different this time?
It's called editing! I love it. It's called TV, baby. It is amazing. I love everything reality—I watch Project Runway, I watch everything—you can't believe how they're being portrayed on TV. It's wonderful how people walk up to me and say, "You're being so mean." Really? I'm being mean because I'm saying let's work as a team? Come on. Obviously, that's just craziness.

But it hurt my mama's feelings. Poor thing. [She said:] "Oh, they're being mean to my baby. You look like you're crazy!" That's the thing that's upsetting about it. Besides that, I love it. 'Cause it's TV. I like the way they manipulate stuff in their own light. Honestly, in China I was waaay more aggressive, because it sucked in China. If you didn't work as a team, I kinda got on you. But they made it look like I was a great person, [while in Heroes vs. Villains] they made it seem like I was the evilest thing ever. Survivor giveth and Survivor taketh away.

What would you say to fans who are so disappointed about how you've been portrayed?
Just be nice to my mama. My mama has been getting the brunt of it, poor thing, and she's kinda upset. Come up to me and tell me whatever you feel like and we'll discuss it...Everybody don't have to see eye to eye. Just take it easy with my mama.

Do you think James is a victim of manipulative editing? Is he really a teddy bear with a gruff voice...or more villain than hero? Let your (one) voice be heard in the comments.

Let's look back at the week's sweetest action!

• Have the flamboyant comments and innuendos of Dancing With the Stars judge Bruno Tonioli been misunderstood? It's your call, America.

• Listen up, ladies. Snooki's advice on men, sex and how to get men to have sex, which applies not only to Jersey Shore, but also to spring breaks everywhere. Good freakin' luck.

• New Yorker Tyra steps out of her comfort zone to host the bridge-and-tunnel crew from Jerseylicious. And their hair, spray-tans and engaging Garden State homilies.

• Part of what's amazing about The Amazing Race 16 is what we can learn about our international brothers. Like those French people who refuse to master English. The swine!

• Arch-conservative mouthpiece Glenn Beck has achieved much in his career. Thanks to repeated blows to the face with a kickball.

Miley Cyrus isn't joking around when she says it's time for her to move on from the music biz.

She recently revealed on The View that she's become a bit disheartened because "the music industry isn't as positive as I'd like it to be."

She didn't backtrack at all when I caught up with her last night at the Hollywood premiereof The Last Song

"I've got a record coming out in June and then I'm done," she said. "I just want to work in movies. That's what I like and that's what I want to be doing."

The Last Song, opening March 31, is Cyrus' first major acting project outside of Hannah Montana.

Not only does the flick's director, Julie Anne Robinson, have high hopes for Cyrus, but so does her costar and real-life beau Liam Hemsworth. He says he wasn't surprised when Cyrus held her own during the movie's more dramatic scenes.

"You know how she feels when she's feeling down and you know how she feels when she's feeling up," he said. "She's a very expressive person and that works on the screen. It really does, and she's really good."

Eminent personalities like Palash Sen (Euphoria), Raghav Sachar, Raghu Ram (MTV Roadies Fame) Padmini Kolhapure, Luke Kenny, Avial, and Saurabh Saxena kicked-off the Follow Your Dreams signature campaign to reform Indian education system here.

The campaign is initiated by 'I Pledge to Stop Student Suicides' movement, in association with Mexus Education.

Palash Sen, lead vocalist, Euphoria, said, "Music has always been the best way to connect directly with the youth. I personally feel that our education system should stress more on enhancing the student's learning experience along with offering him the freedom to make his/her own choice.

"Whatever Euphoria has achieved till date, is because of the fact that we followed our dreams and worked hard towards converting them into a reality. This is the change we intend to bring about with this petition. We never gave up on our dreams and that is my message for everyone, "Haar Na Maan Naa!"

The campaign kicked off at Follow Your Dreams Pronite-Zodiac 2010, an intra-college festival hosted by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RGIT) here.

Raghav Sachar, Youth Icon, popular singer and an ardent supporter of the Follow Your Dreams campaign, said, "It's a great cause and I am a firm believer of following your dreams and chasing them till you fulfil them. I am happy to support this campaign and I will extend all possible help to them in the near future."

The objective of the 'Follow Your Dreams' signature campaign is to raise awareness about the need to de-stress education and provide a balanced and healthy learning environment in schools and colleges across India.

Saurabh Saxena, Director, Mexus Education, said "A student in today's education system is under tremendous academic, parental and social pressure to perform in a highly competitive environment. In this situation, it is important to help students with the right kind of learning tools along with emotional support to ensure that they have a positive outlook towards education which will give them the inner strength to face any challenge in life.

"Our support to the Follow Your Dreams campaign is inherently organic as it is in sync with our philosophy of practical learning and edutainment. We are extremely proud to be a part of this movement."

The signing campaign was followed by concerts by leading independent artists such as Avial, Junkyard Groove and Split.
