I’m uncomfortable kissing my heroines: Raghu
The only hitch was that Raghu didn’t want to kiss and tell in the sequence. We heard he refused outright to do a liplock sequence with Pooja.
When BT spoke to Raghu, the actor admitted to not wanting to be part of such an act. “I didn’t want to do it. I am not comfortable with kissing my heroines,” he confessed. Is it because of his married status? “No, I have a mental block against kissing on celluloid. I feel that something so private should be limited to the bedroom and not be put on display for public consumption,” he explains.
That’s something he’s always stood by. “Even when I just entered the film industry, I was very clear that I wouldn’t kiss or show my body off beyond what’s acceptable to me on screen. I spell it out in clear terms to all my directors just in case these elements are integral to the script. If that’s the case, I just tell them to carry on with another hero so that I don’t hamper their creative process,” says the actor.
In this film too, the director had discussed the scene with Raghu. “But I refused to do it. The camera never lies and if I’m not happy doing it, I’m sure it’ll show on screen. So, why spoil it for the film-maker?” says Raghu. As of now, the sequence has been snipped. “So, we’ll just show the romance more subtly now,” he smiles.
