The ladies of "The Real Housewives of O.C." answered tough questions on the first part of Bravo's reunion special.

(PEOPLE.com) -- The ladies of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" reunited Wednesday night after the dramatic season 5 finale, which showed Tamra Barney's marriage falling apart and Lynne Curtin's teen daughters acting out.

Host Andy Cohen didn't waste time getting right down to the tough questions, beginning with Tamra and Simon's doomed relationship.

Tamra

On her controlling husband: "To constantly have to hide things and not always be honest with him because I've been so afraid of making him mad, I don't want to live like that."

On why she stayed in the marriage: "I knew it wasn't going to work. I knew but I had kids ... I thought, I've got to make it work."

On his claim she cheated: "I didn't cheat on him ... About three years ago, when I got on the show, every ex-boyfriend, friend, cousin, relative that you don't even talk to, started calling. I talked to an ex-boyfriend over the course of a year off and on ... I did not see him, sleep with him, date him, nothing."

On moving on: "I got my own apartment and I moved out. It's a tiny little apartment but it makes me happy ... I'm just so excited about just being me. And now it's just time for me to live."

Lynne

On her plastic surgery: "It was more of a business decision ... because I'm in the fashion industry now with my jewelry line so I have to look good. "

On her daughter Raquel's rhinoplasty: "She had got hit in the face with something when she was younger and she always had that little bump there, so she has the nose that God intended her to have."

On disciplining her daughters: "You can't beat them any more. It's against the law."

On daughter Alexa's acting out: "She's manipulating me because she knows everyone's going to see it. She knows she can get away with it."

On her parenting skills: "I don't think I could do any better a job than I'm doing right now."

Gretchen

On confronting Alexa about depression: "I have a degree in psychology and a minor in family studies and child development. I was actually trained to look out for the signs of children going through this."

On Lynne's getting upset about the confrontation: "This isn't about you Lynne. I'm concerned for your daughters and it hurt me to say that my intentions were off."

On her relationship with Slade: "Right now I'm the happiest I've been in a really long time."

On her co-star's Slade-basing: "At the end of the day he's the person I'm in love with and I ask that you guys respect and don't talk negative about him."

On whether Slade will reverse his vasectomy: "I would love to have four kids with him."

Alexis

On whether her husband is controlling: "If he tried to control me I think you can see from the way that I handle myself we wouldn't be married."

On reconciling religion with "Real Housewives": "I don't think God disapproves of 'Housewives of Orange County.' I think he wishes we obviously would straighten up a few of our things."

On God and plastic surgery: "God doesn't want you to be unhappy and as long as you're not obsessed with it and I'm not under the knife every week ... I don't think it's a bad thing."

On what her church thinks of the show: "Our pastor and his wife have fasted for us. Everybody in the congregation comes in and hugs us and says, 'We're praying for you.' They feel bad for how bad we get beat up on this show."

Vicki

On Tamra: "I know Tamra's going to be in a better place now. She can be who she is, which is a great mother, a great person, a great friend and she wasn't being Tamra because somebody was telling her she was wrong in everything she did."

On Lynne's parenting skills: "There have to be rules. There have to be consequences."

On Slade: "I can't even tell you one thing that irritates me about Slade. It's his whole persona. He's an opportunist. He loves to be on TV ... This is a 'Housewives' show and everywhere we go, he's there. He's the boyfriend of Gretchen right now. He was the boyfriend of Jo. He was the boyfriend of Lauri ... They had an intimate relationship. Period. Slade told you they never dated. That's a lie."
